Ground Rules

Think of Neighbors as a neighborhood gathering, where conversation is lively and civil. What's important to you is probably of interest to others – if your neighbors don't know about something, they willl appreciate if you share your knowledge. The community and its users will decide what the site becomes, but it is not intended to be a free-for-all. For the benefit of all, the following Ground Rules will apply:

You agree to use your first and last name, and an email address that you check regularly.

You agree to keep it clean, respect others, and not use language you wouldn't use with your mom.

You agree not to post, e-mail or otherwise make available content that is, contains or does:

3. Contains profanity
4. Abusive
5. Fabricated
6. Abuses the CAPS LOCK key
7. Deceitful or deceptive
8. Harmful
9. Harassing
10. Defamatory
11. Libelous
12. Slanderous
13. Misleading
14. Insulting to groups or individuals
15. Contains threats of any kind
16. Unlawful
17. Pornographic
18. Invasive of another's privacy
19. Harms minors in any way
20. That intimidates or is hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability
21. That purports to be from any person or entity not yourself, including but not limited to a Denver Post employee
22. Falsely states or otherwise misrepresents your affiliation with a person or entity
23. That includes personal or identifying information about another person without that person's explicit consent
24. That infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party, or content that you do not have a right to make available under any law or under contractual or fiduciary relationships
25. That constitutes or contains "affiliate marketing," "link referral code," "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or unsolicited commercial advertisement
26. That contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment
27. Otherwise impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure
28. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Denver Post computer systems or any other user's computer systems
29. Or engage in any activity that disrupts, diminishes the quality of, interferes with the performance of, or impairs the functionality of the denverpost.com website or its subsidiaries.
